Yvonne Monahan started to ride when she was 10 years old. Immediately hooked, she spent every minute that she could helping in the local yard in exchange for lessons. Since then her life has always involved horses. She now makes a living out of breeding, training and competing horses with her husband Pat.
Along the way she became an international eventing rider and won the International Three Day Event at Punchestown riding the fabulous "Santex". She has also ridden at the top national level of showjumping and dressage.
Another talent Yvonne has is the ability to "match" horses with riders and indeed she has many clients coming from both the USA and Europe looking for horses.
For several years she was one of four Master Judges overseeing the training of dressage judges in Ireland and is a founder member of Dressage Ireland. She is also an International Three Day Event judge, and a medium level Dressage judge.
Yvonne is now passionate about training people at any aspect of equestrianism. No matter what the level they are at, from beginners to top international competitors!
"My aim for each of my clients is that they learn to achieve complete harmony wih their horse. To achieve this I help them to understand how a horse thinks and performs to enable them to become true Natural Horsemen and Horsewomen"
Yvonne Monahan
In 2005 her life took a new learning curve when she immersed herself in Equine Facilitated Experential Learning. To this end she travelled to Tucson, Arizona where she studied with Linda Kohanov and Kathleen Barry Ingram, co-founders of Epona Equestrian Services. She is now an Epona Approved Instructor.
