The Path Back

Although there was an orange weather warning the day did not treat us so bad with only the odd gentle sleet shower. Three people braved the weather and a great day was had by all. The horses excelled themselves and the mare and foal – Linn and Maedbheen were one of the chosen horses on the day. They had a lot of fun and also gave us all lots of laughs and positive energy vibes! The next Discovery Day will be sometime in the end of January so keep an eye out for the dates!

Have a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for 2018 to all.

WOW….. TURN THE MAGIC ON!!! An amazing day of heart centered connection, healing, self discovery, and eating your way through the home baked delights… Banana bread n choco crispy buns to die for!!!. Can’t recommend this workshop highly enough, it’s beyond words and to be experienced in the space held with Yvonne and her amazing team of horses, especially My Marmalade ……. Feeling Alive again, wahoo…. wahoo…. Thank you!

The day complete

I so am grateful to Yvonne and the herd for sharing the Sacred Pause with us.
I have had some experience with horses and mindfulness and my intention for the day was to be open.

When I arrived I felt very welcome, Yvonne has a relaxed way with people and animals and it was easy to let go of the outside world and slide into the day. The body scan was revealing, and the way the body communicates was interesting.
When we met the horses Yvonne taught us how to create a safe space for ourselves by setting boundaries without dominance but with clarity of intention and clear communication.
It was a beautiful experience and allowed me to just be myself with the horses and vice a versa.

In the afternoon we sat with the horses in the field. Immediately QT and Monty came over and breathed on me, QT pushed my journal off my knee and nudged my glasses, I got the feeling he just wanted me to relax. When I set the journal back onto my knee Monty started to push it off so I set it down.
Monty then began to heal the area the body scan had revealed to me. He seemed to blow things off me with his breath and set his nose on my head, neck and shoulders. He was so gentle that as I sat with my eyes closed I thought Yvonne had taken his place and was placing her hands on me but it was Monty the whole time.
I sensed him lift something off me and he drew down what felt like warm sunlight into my body. He opened something that had been blocked.
I was totally at ease, peaceful and connected to all. I still feel his presence and that peace at my core.

2017

I follow Wayne Dyer on my lap top and have read many of his books so I have decided to share with you his thoughts on New Year Resolutions! And remember when he says to live in the present moment that one of the nicest ways is to spend time with an animal. Here at Rogerstown House my herd of horses are experts at helping you to access the only moment which is really relevant… the Present Moment! So here are Wayne’s thoughts about this moment.

It’s the first few days of the new year, so you have probably worked on a list of things that you’d like to get done in 2017. Drawing on the wisdom of Dr. Wayne Dyer, what if you choose to forget about making these resolutions? What if you choose to forget about deciding how you will be conducting your life months from now?

For 2017, what if you choose to live in the present moment?
” This day that you’re living right now is the only day you get. Period. You can resolve to be skinny when next July rolls around, or to quit smoking next month, or to write that book you’ve been meaning to, or to embark on your overdue exercise program by the end of this year. You can go about resolving until the cows come home, and you still have to live your life just like everyone else on the planet: One day at a time.

You can only live minute to minute. You can certainly use up your present moments thinking about what you’ll be doing in the future, but that doesn’t change the fact that you can only live in the now. The important question to be asking yourself is:

How am I going to live in the present moment this year?

Will I waste these moments reviewing the way I used to behave? Will I waste these moments reviewing how I would like to behave in the future rather than resolving to live each day to the fullest?

The new year is a good time to initiate a plan so you can make some changes and help live your life to the fullest. See if you can practice thinking differently. Decide very specifically what it is that you would like to change about yourself in 2017. If you have some goals in mind, vow to work on them day by day rather than making them a year-long project.

When you set up day-to-day goals for yourself, you can begin living this way for the rest of your life. Remember this little piece of advice, which will be extremely helpful to you if you can incorporate it into your life: When you go for one entire day without eating sugar (or not smoking, or being assertive, or any other new behavior), you are a totally different person at the end of that day. What you must learn to do is let that totally different person decide on the second day whether to do it again on this new day, rather than letting the same old person decide today that it is going to be difficult in a couple of days anyhow, so what’s the use. Always let the New You make the decision, and then you’ll be living your present moments.

Remember, you are in control of all thoughts in your head. When you are using up your present moments to worry about the future, constantly reviewing the past to come up with how you should have done it differently, or contemplating disaster, remind yourself that you are wasting this particular present moment.

Practice cancelling out negative thoughts for a few minutes at a time. Vow to enjoy the next five minutes regardless of what has previously transpired or what you think is about to happen. Remind yourself of the folly of wasting your present moments on mental activity that focuses exclusively on your past or imagined future. All of your thoughts about what you should have done, or how terrible things were in the past will not change one tiny slice of the past.

As you celebrate this new year and each precious present moment, here are 10 reminders to help you live in the Now:
Remember that habits are changed by practicing new behavior. By practicing new thinking every five minutes, you’ll soon begin to master the art of present-moment living.
Do an honest assessment of your “problems.” You’ll very likely discover that almost all of your problems are really in your head and not located in reality.
Take time to be mindful of everything around you. Begin to look at your entire surroundings in a new light. Observe every detail on every face, every building and every object. If you do this often enough it will become a habit that will facilitate your being alive in every moment of the year.
Change your attitude. Begin an attitude-redevelopment plan. That means practice enjoying everything you do.
Be specific about what you want and take action. Decide on one thing that you would like to work on and do it today. Work at it daily, rather than making it a long-range objective.
Create a self-improvement agenda for yourself. Put on your agenda whatever activities you’ve always thought about but never had time to do. Do them now.
Rid yourself of mundane chores that are not really that important. Spend more time making your life a pleasure.
Eliminate procrastination as a lifestyle. Instead of talking to yourself about what you are going to do next week or even tomorrow, use this time to start a new task.
Don’t give up control of your life to others. You cannot enjoy the present moment if you are busy trying to make everyone else like you. People respect you more when you operate from a position of strength and self-reliance.
Feel good about yourself. You are a magnificent human being. Always feel good about that self that you are always with.”

In the first week Isaiah tells us; “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths. O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord!” From 10am until 12 noon each Saturday of Advent (November 26, December 3, 10 and 17) come to Rogerstown House and immerse yourself in nature and the deep spirituality of the readings of Isaiah. Do come and experience the Holy Journey as never before!
